YOGYAKARTA – Another remarkable achievement has come from the academic community of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. With gratitude and great joy, the PAI Study Program extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Yuli Kuswandari, S.Pd., M.Hum. on the successful completion of her Open Doctoral Dissertation Defense and the attainment of her doctoral degree in Islamic Religious Education.

The Open Doctoral Dissertation Defense was held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the 3rd Floor Meeting Hall, PPG Building, FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). This academic milestone represents an exceptional achievement and a joyful moment for the entire PAI academic community.

During the defense, Yuli Kuswandari presented and defended her dissertation entitled “Constructing an Integrated Model of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Values and Digital Literacy in English Language Learning at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Sleman.” The dissertation explores the integration of Islamic Religious Education values and digital literacy into English language learning within the madrasah context.

The academic examination was conducted before a distinguished panel consisting of Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama, M.Pd., Chair of the Examination Committee; Prof. Dr. Sukiman, S.Ag., M.Pd., Secretary of the Examination Committee; Prof. Dr. Istiningsih, M.Pd., Promoter I; and Prof. Dr. Zainal Arifin, M.S.I., Promoter II.

The examination panel also included Dr. Arif Budiman, S.S., M.A.; Prof. Dr. Sri Sumarni, M.Pd.; Prof. Dr. Sangkot Sirait, M.Ag.; and Fuad Arif Fudiyartanto, S.Pd., M.Hum., M.Ed., Ph.D. The participation of these distinguished academics provided an important forum for examining and deepening the scholarly contributions presented in the dissertation.

For the PAI Study Program, Yuli Kuswandari’s successful completion of her doctoral studies represents more than a personal academic achievement. It is also a source of collective pride for the entire academic community. The doctoral degree she has earned marks an important milestone in her academic journey while adding to the growing list of outstanding achievements of the Islamic Religious Education community at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

The subject of her dissertation is also highly relevant to contemporary educational developments.
