One indicator of the quality of a study program at a university can be seen from the accreditation status it gets, both from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and from other accreditation institutions. Therefore, in order to maintain the quality of the Study Program, on Thursday, October 8 from 09.00 to 13.00 WIB, the Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga held a focused group discussion (FGD) Preparation for the 9 Standard BAN-PT Accreditation Visitation. This FGD was conducted online through the zoom application.

The FGD presented Dr. Suranto, M. Pol. as a resource person. He is a senior assessor of the BAN-PT Ministry of Education and Culture as well as a lecturer in the Government Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This FGD also presented the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Munip, M.Ag., as keynote speaker. In addition, this FGD was also attended by permanent lecturers and teaching staff (tendik) of the PAI Study Program.

FGD moderated by Dr. Eva Latipah, M.Sc., Head of the PAI Study Program was intentionally held as a preparation for submitting an accreditation form for the PAI Study Program in 2021. The validity period of the PAI Study Program accreditation itself will end on December 9, 2020. Currently, the PAI Study Program is applying for an extension of the validity period of the accreditation. This extension was carried out in response to the policy of BAN PT which allowed an extension of the validity period of accreditation. The policy is contained in BAN-PT Regulation Number 1 of 2020 dated 27 February 2020.

In his speech as a keynote speaker, Professor Munip said that FITK is the largest faculty at UIN Sunan Kalijaga with the highest number of study programs, namely 16 study programs. "FITK is like STAI because there are so many study programs," said the Professor of UIN Sunan Kalijaga in the field of study. He also said that PAI is the oldest study program at FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga. From year to year the PAI study program always gets an A accreditation from BAN-PT. Continuing the statement of Prof. Munip, Dr. Suranto, M. Pol. optimistic that the PAI Study Program will be able to achieve superior accreditation in 2021. This is based on the results of its review of the SAPTO draft that has been prepared by the PAI Study Program Accreditation Team. “I am optimistic that the PAI Study Program will be able to achieve superior accreditation as long as all elements and indicators of Form 9 Standard are met”
