Focus Group Discussion on Study Program Curriculum of Islamic Religious Education (bachelor) Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka

The Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka Policy (hereinafter abbreviated as MBKM) is one of the policies initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture contained in Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020. UIN Sunan Kalijaga responded to this policy with efforts to redesign the MBKM curriculum and of course, this became an agenda for activities. In each study program, including the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) study program.

The IREStudy Program on Monday, September 21, 2020, held aFGD (Focus Group Discussion) with IRElecturers by presenting one of the curriculum experts at FITK, namely Dr. Sukiman, S.Ag., M.Pd., as resource persons. This activity was carried out online (in a network via zoom meeting), with the theme "Kurikulum PAI S1 Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merde", which aims to thoroughly explore MBKM policies including; legal basis, policy objectives, implementation mechanisms, and learning systems at the study program level as well as various alternative learning activities outside the campus. This understanding is certainly needed as material for joint discussions in order to formulate learning designs and curricula that will be applied in the PAI Study Program.

The basic thing that this policy was initiated in order to realize an autonomous and flexible learning process so as to create a learning culture that was innovative, unfettered, and in accordance with the needs of students. Based on this policy, students are given the right to freedom to take learning credits outside the study program for 3 semesters, both in one HEI(University) and/or outside HEI.

This FGD activity was held from 09:00 to 12:00 WIB, starting with the opening and a briefing by the Head of IRE Study Program, Dr. Eva Latipah, M.Si., then the main agenda of the FGD was guided by the Secretary of the IREStudy Program, Dr. M. Agung Rokhimawan, M.Pd., as moderator. The main focus of the FGD event was attended by 13 PAI study program lecturers who all participated in contributing ideas in the context of the PAI Study Program Curriculum Redesign process. It is hoped that with this activity, the lecturers understand the MBKM curriculum both theoretically and practically and in particular in order to support the process of Redesigning the Islamic Religious Education Study Program FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga so that it runs optimally as expected.
